L…50…half-centurial….
1966 was a different era, times were changing.
Dylan had gone electric, The Beatles were still touring, the Boston Celtics won another title…
Boston’s is a history long in tradition, Revere, Adams, Hancock, Tea Party, Longfellow, Emerson, Whitman, Harvard, MIT…. hallowed American history and culture, but a new spirit of engagement and enlightenment was rising and with it La Chaîne, like The Beatles, hit the shores of Boston with our first dinner at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in March of 1966.
50 years passing is a milestone of note most certainly and Boston’s Bailliage took note with a flourish on April 24th at Meritage in the Boston Harbor Hotel to kick off our second half century with Le Chapître du Printemps at Mondial Induction Gala.
Vice Concelier Culinare and General Manager Maître Hôtelier Stephen Johnston hosted this elegant gathering where inductees of both La Chaine and Mondial joined the illustrious Golden Goose in oathful fellowship.
Capping the celebratory communion, The Boston Legends of Food and Wine Award was presented to Bailli Honoraire Avram J. Goldberg to honor his devotion and commitment to La Chaine in Boston and beyond.
Our reception sparkled with Veuve Cliquot generously provided by the Martignetti Companies, our Moet Distributors, and our delicious dinner menu and wonderful wine pairings were brilliantly chosen and prepared by Chef Bruce and his team.
Another year another dinner? More than simply that. Another amazing Boston Chaine evening with all the fun and cameraderie of the table that is the hallmark of our quinquagenerial, gastromical, organization!
Vive la Chaîne!
